Peter A. Greiner graduated from Colgate University with a B.A. in Political Science in 1995 and earned his law degree at the Villanova University School of Law in 1998. At Villanova Law School, Mr. Greiner was a member of both the Moot Court Board and the Criminal Law Society.
Mr. Greinerís practice focuses on civil litigation with significant experience in prosecuting professional malpractice claims, catastrophic injury and wrongful death actions, civil rights violations, dram shop matters, product liability cases, defamation and other serious civil matters. Mr. Greiner also has experience handling commercial litigation, representing clients involved in minority shareholder disputes, litigating matters involving non-compete agreements and restrictive covenants, and handling matters involving corporate fraud. Additionally, Mr. Greiner has successfully represented numerous clients facing serious state and criminal charges.
Mr. Greiner was an Assistant District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia for five years, where he prosecuted thousands of serious felony cases to verdict before judges and juries. Immediately after leaving the DAís Office, Mr. Greiner worked for a national law firm focusing on the area of post-employment restrictive covenants and non-compete agreements, which he successfully litigated in courts across the nation for Fortune 500 clients. In those cases, he obtained numerous settlements after litigation for his clients whose former employees sought to violate their post-employment restrictive covenants.
Most recently prior to joining Sprague & Sprague, Mr. Greiner was a shareholder at Meyerson & OíNeill in Philadelphia, where he represented seriously injured clients, obtaining verdicts and settlements on their behalf in Philadelphia and beyond. His clients included persons severely injured in car accidents by drivers who were served by taverns while those drivers were visibly intoxicated, persons who were wrongfully arrested and accused of crimes whose civil rights were violated by law enforcement officers, clients who were severely injured and further hurt by the actions and inaction of their attorneys through their negligent misrepresentation, persons injured due to the negligence of their physicians, and many other severely injured clients. Additionally, Mr. Greiner represented the interests of numerous minority shareholders whose interests were being usurped by the majority shareholders. In those cases, Mr. Greiner successfully litigated or resolved those matters without litigation in favor of his clients for millions of dollars. Mr. Greinerís experience also includes contract drafting, review, and negotiations, breach of contract litigations, as well as handling corporate fraud and qui tam matters.
Mr. Greiner is admitted to practice law in the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the State of New Jersey and United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan. He has also been admitted and handled matters in the appellate courts of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
